For nearly two decades we've been cultivating curious communities: from the Books for Walls Project to Sunny and the Elk, from community art with CognEYEzant to exploring futures with the Young Minds Forum, right back to this current iteration.

Rooted in our mission to cultivate curiosity and support literacy, learning, creativity, and contemplation, this community offers a way to stay engaged with the work unfolding across the Look Wonder Discover Commons—inviting people everywhere to look, wonder, and discover together.

Since 2010, Look Wonder Discover has been cultivating curiosity—supporting literacy, learning, creativity, and contemplation. The LWD | Occasional Newsletter continues that mission by sharing a few updates each year about our community projects, research, and the evolving programming and research.

Each issue offers a glimpse into what’s happening from interactive art and futurist and science communication projects to new educational resources and opportunities to participate in our workshops and community gatherings. It’s a slow and intentional way to stay connected with our work: no inbox clutter, just meaningful updates when something worth sharing unfolds.

Upcoming Virtual Programming

In 2026, we’ll celebrate a full-circle moment—the relaunch of the Books for Walls Project (BFWP), the initiative that started it all. Originally launched in 2010, BFWP invited readers of all ages to explore literacy, libraries, and imagination together.

This next edition will expand those same values into today’s world—connecting reading, reflection, and community engagement with futures-oriented education and open science. Subscribers to the LWD | Occasional will be the first to receive updates, early invitations, and behind-the-scenes stories as the project returns.
